An advanced Photoshop user, Pennington is familiar with and uses Adobe Creative Suite applications. He is an advanced Microsoft Office user, and he has programmed in multiple database applications. He is proficient in php, HTML, CSS, and several Content Management Systems, including WordPress, Drupal, Omeka, and Kora.

He is an accomplished user of and instructor for non-linear editing (NLE) systems for video and audio editing and has used this knowledge in the production of audio and video for online education and several successful podcasts.
