At least the days here are getting a tad longer. I wonder if I still have to obey the sign…

I seem to be into bright shiny objects lately. The cold/warming/cold days here are producing some beautiful icicles. I’d rather they thawed and took the cold with them, but at least we can enjoy their beauty. ISO 100 at 200.

It’s snowing and cold here. Windy. Wet. Ugh. So it’s an inside shot for now. I’m heading down to the river for a walk and to be outside for just a bit, but haven’t made up my mind about taking the camera. So daggum hard to keep the lens clean on a day like this… we’ll see.
To keep my daily posts going though, I took this of a glass sculpture I have in my living room. I was walking past hunting a book and noticed the snow through the window catching in the sculpture. ISO 100 at 60.

From very early this morning, before sunrise, tramping through the snow in my backyard. ISO 400 with about a 20 second exposure.

Also – found this amazing artist’s site today. Such a creative use of cracked sidewalks and seams in the pavement. Really creative work.
I’d hoped to get out and grab a few more pictures in the middle of the snowstorm we’re having. Total predicted snowfall for today/tonight is about one foot, and I think we’ve gotten most of it already. I sure hope so anyway – don’t want any more. This Southern child has had his fill this winter. As beautiful as the snow can be – hanging from evergreens, coating the world in silent white – the cold seeps into me and makes me yearn for my native airs.
ISO 400, f4.5 (forced it), in color. I posted it just as the shot came off the camera.
Footfalls
I’m hoping this won’t be the only photo I post today. It’s currently snowing hard and piling up, which could make for some beautiful shots later. If I can finish work while daylight still exists…
winter’s weight
A field out near my house caught my eye this morning. Forgot to write down camera settings… again. Will get better at this.

I made myself two promises yesterday.
This post proves I kept both promises. Smiling – I’m rather pleased with myself.
