Supper

This is my first attempt at a Thai green curry with mushrooms, tofu, and basil. I give it about a 6 out of 10. Next time I’ll up the spices (more heat!) and add a few more vegetables. I wanted to keep this one simple and focus more on building the sauce. I’ll revisit this dish soon.

For the picture, I used an almost 10 year old Rebel XTi as it had the lens I wanted on it already and was close at hand. Sometimes, with supper cooking, kiddo asking questions, and end-of-day distractions… the camera already mounting the lens I want is the one I’ll use to shoot. I had a much newer camera sitting right next to it but mounting a long zoom. The dish was ready and we were about to sit down, so the lens – and not the camera body – dictated the shot. Still, I’m mostly pleased with the result. If I had the shot to take again, I’d dial the aperture up to about 2.2 or 2.5 and get a little more depth.
